After over a year in the planning and representing an investment in excess of £2M Players Sheffield will open mid December on West Street, Sheffield. At 6,700 sq ft and with a capacity of 600 the venue launched by Leisure Operator Bluedene Ltd will create more than 40 jobs and be one of the largest bars in Sheffield City Centre.
The Players brand was launched in February 2006 in Newcastle within its prestigious Gate development, it soon proved a massive hit not only with the weekend revellers but also with the student market and of course the sports crowd;- the Sheffield venue boasts several impressive 60" plasma screens in addition to two huge projector screens.
Directors Gordon and Jonathan Codona explain the main difference between Players and other bars in Sheffield will be the entertainment ethos adopted. Players Bars have DJ`s on 7 nights per week specialising in different genres of music to compliment each individual night, from current, credible commercial to dance, RnB as well as the classics from back in the day with a contemporary twist. Players also prides itself on it`s large team of professional dancers. The Players Allstar dancers range from jaw dropping female RnB performers to awesome award winning male breakers and body poppers who all train and progress through the Players dance group.
Whilst Players always has, and continues to promote and support safe and aware drinking, it`s student nights offer unrivalled value and entertainment in a safe and monitored environment. Matchdays are jumping with all the big screens showing all the available matches and results tables while the Allstars entertain the crowd at half time.
With entertainment being so high on the list of priorities the sound system needed to be special and it is! Developed at great length and expense owners Bluedene Ltd and Bose got together to create what will be one of the most powerful and effective sound systems ever found in a bar with a dance floor and full lighting rig to compliment it.
Stocking everything from Cristal to Corona, with a night to suit every taste and pocket, 3 bars, and the Uber cool Players VIP Lounge Players Sheffield promises to be the place to see and be seen in 2009.
